Rafael Nadal Upsets Stan Wawrinka In London London-- Monday at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at London in round robin play, the fifth seeded Rafael Nadal of Spain upset the 4th seeded Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland 6-3, 6-2 in a one hour 23 minutes long night match.

Nadal opened the match by losing serve before breaking back immediately to reach one all before the set remained on serve to reach 4-3.

Serving at gamepoint, Wawrinka double faulted before striking two forehand errors to drop serve and trail 3-5.

Nadal would finish the night with 18 winners to 12 unforced errors.

Then serving for the set at 40-15 with two set points, Nadal hit an ace down the tee to close the set out in only 37 minutes.

Wawrinka struggled in his opening service game of set two before holding serve in a game that lasted for eight minutes.

Nadal then continued his aggressive topspin baseline game in set two to break serve twice to take a 4-1 lead.

However Wawrinka did show some flashes of brilliant shotmaking as when he won a 24 shot rally after striking a crosscourt backhand winner.

But Nadal remained too consistent while Wawrinka produced several additional errors to wrap up the match.

Nadal would finish the night with 18 winners to 12 unforced errors while Wawrinka would finish with 29 winners to 35 unforced errors.
